Colour Me Happy

19 July 2010

Last week I was lucky enough to take part in a week long watercolour course with the lovely John Wells at SCA. His classes were very relaxed and despite the fact I was painting vintage bambis and pet bunnies (this was something everyone was very curious about, and for the record: No, I don’t have any kids, I JUST LIKE ANIMALS!) when all the other ladies were painting far- away holiday destinations and daisy fields, he did a great job feigning an interest in my pastel coloured creations. I have dabbled in painting before but doing something like this is a great way to learn a proper technique and pick up little tips and tricks from the people around you. Here is a few of my completed projects from last week. Kx

Recently Found Vintage

You can never have too many bambis. This little treasure was from my favourite vintage shop in Newtown.

And these cuties! From Etsy. My new favourites.

bambisThis beautiful bird plate also from my favourite vintage shop. I love the pink ribbon.

These pretty floral canisters, which aren’t actually that old, but I love them anyway, they were only $10, from this cute vintage shop in Summer Hill, where we also scored my birthday garden deers.

canistersThis cute velvet cape I found is actually for kids I think, but I love it and it fits and it was $3 :) Of course I haven’t worn it as yet….

This cute circus tin was from a weird little second hand place that gave us a free plastic fox with our purchase.

And I really love these pretty cross stitched hankies which I’ve been slowly collecting for future projects. Most of them were only 50c, how could I say no!
