The Storybook Rabbit Stuff Lately

7 May 2013

Lately I’ve been making lots of new goodies for this special event below, happening at the end of this month. I’m sharing a big stall with Kirbee Lawler, which is a promise for there to be way too many cute rabbit things on offer for you to be able to decide on one.

I’ve been working on tonnes of new plates and doilies.

10 April 2013

My new little tokissi arrived last week! I pre-ordered her so long ago I almost forgot she was coming!

She’s a little bit cute!

I think I like her best because she’s so pastel and pretty. She even has pink eyes! I also chopped off my mint green middies’ hair this weekend and now I like her much more. Next I think I’ll customise her face. Kxmiditok

A Very Good Day

8 April 2013

You know when sometimes you have funny little things you joke about with your friends? Like saying, “Imagine if we found an original 1972 Kenner Blythe in an op shop ones day!” Yeah, well, that is the ongoing thing Kirbee and I have been joking about since we met last year. It’s kind of one of those things that every Blythe girl dreams about. And then when we started op shopping together a few months ago we’d say it more and more often, creating more and more elaborate stories about how it would happen, how little we’d pay, how we’d fight each other for it (not really) and how we’d just pull one out of a dump bin of bratz dolls and Voila, our very own op-shop Kenner.

Well, yeah….that thing….it KIND OF HAPPENED LAST WEEK! We did a quick stop into salvos on our way home on the off chance of finding a bambi or a cute dress…but instead we quickly discovered THIS in the glass cabinet. Clearly someone knew she shouldn’t be tossed in the bin, but didn’t quite know why.

kenner4

And this is her, in her original outfit and everything! She is horribly manky. She’s been reglued, rescrewed and completely loved TO DEATH, but surprisingly there is nothing that WRONG with her. And can you believe we paid a measly $30 for this little gem? She was even insultingly labelled as “Parts”, the poor thing!

kenner3

So her legs and head are a little bit gross, but there’s nothing that we wont be able to fix or replace.

kenner2

And either way, we love her. And now there’s one less thing on that “do before you die” list. This really isn’t something that happens a lot…or you know, EVER. It really was the best day. Kx

Good Things Lately…

4 February 2013

On the weekend we made some delicious soup because this crazy weather is good for nothing else. This was Chinese veggies with noodles we made ourselves with our pasta maker.

Sadly this week we farewelled one of the lovely made590 ladies, Emma, who’s off to have a baby soon! To celebrate we went bowling, and guess who won the night (and this hideous trophy)? trophy

I’ve been doing some behind the scenes DIY for Lynds and Bens’ wedding (really nothing at all compared to the mammoth effort Lynds and Ben have put in themselves!) which is NEXT WEEKEND! I can’t believe it’s come up so quickly and I’m so excited for the big day. Expect LOADS of colour, giant paper flowers and the cutest little personalised cake toppers you ever did see (made by me!).DIY

As well as wedding goodies, we’ve also been painting like crazy over at my nans’ house which we’re due to move into in a month or so.painting

And I’ve been admiring the wide windowsills, imagining all the things I can unpack out of my millions of untouched boxes from our last move, straight onto them!windowsils

And I’ve been picking colours for the front door! We decided on “seascape”.seaside

And last but not least I bought cute little wigs for all my tokissi girls. Bunnies don’t get much cuter! Kxtokissigirls4

New Additions

14 January 2013

I have collected a few new girls for my little blythe family. These little cuties are called “tokissi” bunny dolls and I think i’m already addicted to them!tokissi

The best thing about Tokissi is that they are just slightly smaller than Middie Blythe, but twice as cute! middietokissi

They also fit middie blythe clothing, Which is great because mum made me a whole bunch of new Blythe outfits for Christmas! Aren’t the teeny socks adorable!? and the little embroidered cardies, totally my favourite.

And this is a factory Blythe I bought on ebay. Factory Blythes are said to be dolls made up of all different parts which are not “official” stock Blythe dolls.before

And this is her after I had a little customising day with Kirbee. I have called her Stella, because of her pretty silvery hair.stalla

I carved & coloured her mouth, matte her face, coloured her cheeks and added a few freckles for good measure. I also gave her a cute little bob because her hair was a bit ratty at the ends. Kx

Blythe Family

13 December 2012

I recently bought myself an early christmas present. Something I’ve been wanting all year. Middie Blythes!

These cuties are a Melomelomeow and a Milk and Honey Middie, wearing clothes by Mum!.

Here is where the middie fits into the Blythe family in terms of size.

And here is an adorable photo of my pastel blythes together. How great is the beret I bought for Hetty (right) from Blythecon? It’s by Caramelody and its amazingly cute. Kx

Melbourne Weekend

19 November 2012

Last week I spent a couple of days in Melbourne with the very lovely and talented Kirbee Lawler. We packed up our Blythes and headed out, with Blythecon and Melbourne antiquing high on the agenda. Here are some highlights from the long weekend we spent there.

My delicious Breakfast at Canteen, off flinders lane, complete with adorable mini milk bottle.

Kirbees crazy hot chocolate from Slow Poke on Brunswick Street.

My Lord of the Fries “Nuggets” and Chips Snackbox. Yes it really was as sickeningly good as it looks.

Kirbees’ first Daiso trip! Everything $2.80, imported from Japan. Seek it out if you haven’t already!

The amazing Caldera Skull Couple at Amor Y Locura on Gertrude Street.

Visiting beautiful shops such as Lady Petrova. Think unicorns, kittens and Caitlin Shearer dresses!

Eating ice cream in Fed Square during the diwali festival, at sunset. Lovely!

Lining up our Blythes and purchasing goodies made by adorable and talented people!

Seeing Christinas’ (aka Jamfancy!) amazing Blythe dresses on show and meeting so many talented and lovely people, who all love Blythe as much as we do. It was so nice that what could have been a very disappointing day (due to blythecon being a tad disorganised shall we say?), turned out wonderfully fun due to the company around us.

After Melbourne we road tripped to Daylesford, which was super fun and perfect weather for a spot of exploring.

We visited Lark store in Daylesford, which was full of colour and fun things.

We scrounged through Bazaars, antique shops and vintage markets gathering goodies.

Then watched a pretty sunset and photographed ducks by a cute little lake.

We spent our last day visiting another Mill Market (like the one at Daylesford, pictured blurily above) on a quick trip through Ballarat and Werribee, then finally we were home! Thanks Melbourne, we’ll see you again sometime. Kx

Welcome!

10 August 2012

I got a new little friend in the mail yesterday.

She joins my other Blythe, Olive and gets to share the awesome wardrobe of outfits mum has been sewing and knitting for them. She’s a factory blythe I bought off ebay to customise. I think I’m going to chop her hair short and give her a little bob. Kx
