Mexican Fiesta Jewellery

4 April 2013

I have an exciting little sneak peek at our new range for you all. Can you guess the theme? It’s probably not surprising we’ve taken inspiration from Lyndsays’ Mexican wedding amongst other things to create a flowery mexican range of jewellery! We’re very excited about our first samples and there will be more to share soon when we decide on the final designs.

Lately..

5 December 2012

December is always a crazy time of year, for everyone I know! Here is a little of what we’ve been doing for fun in between the busy.

Frozen yoghurt for two and Daiso trips.

Hanging my Candy Stripe Cloud/Andrea Smith christmas wreath on the front door of our place (which we’ll soon be moving out of again!).

Cooling our feet in Wilfy’s paddling pool (because he’s not so keen on it yet).

Making mint, apple and lime frappes.

Renewing my Edgars Mission buddy, Bambi. How great is the buddy pack illustration Lynds put together with this talented lady.

And finally here is Juno, always hiding from the heat close to my buddle wrap boxes, which apparently taste better than anything else on offer. Kx

Junos New Rug

22 November 2012

After losing two of my wool coats to Juno dragging them onto the floor, claiming and COVERING them in her fur beyond take-back, I decided it was time to buy her something comfy and warm to relax on. Although I didn’t know exactly how relaxed she would get. Kx

Misket

21 November 2012

On Monday afternoon we stopped by our friend Mechelle B‘s house to see her and meet her new puppy!

Everyone….this is Misket.

She’s a Japanese Spitz, and little bit CUTE!

And she likes to snack on Asparagus.

And we snacked on Mechelles’ vegan Goji berry and Almond cocoa slice!

And by the end of the afternoon I think even Lynds was a little bit in love. Kx

Ueno Zoo

12 June 2012

I was very excited to visit the famous Ueno Zoo when we were in Tokyo a few weeks ago (already feels like months ago). Here are some highlights and happy snaps I took.

The Zoo entrance has some of the most beautiful illustrated signage I’ve seen anywhere! I want this one as wall paper.

Cute little tree cats of some kind. I’d never heard of these, but they were very adorable.

My favourite animal at the zoo was the mouse deers, which unfortunately were in the nocturnal enclosure and therefore my photo is a bit crap, sorry!

This little lemur thing was also very fluffy and very cute.

Aardvarks! How funny are their ears!?

The meerkats, always a favourite.

Pretty polar bear, he looked rather bored.

One of Uenos’ very famous Panda siblings. They were by far the most popular and busy attraction in the zoo.

The little goats! All the farm animals were cute really, but this little goat was super cute. I thought of the very lovely Deer Donna when I saw them, who has a bit of goat obsession :)

Even the signage at the zoo was SO cute and so very Japanese. The goat signs looked like they’d been painted by some school groups.

And this little guy was one of my favourites! A little resin aye aye on the handrail at the the aye aye forest.

And multicoloured aye ayes and lemurs decorated everything!

Even the snow cone cups were cute.

But as mentioned before, the capybara was still my personal highlight of the day. He was so big and so sleepy, he had a little flop in the dirt and went to sleep right next to me. Hope you enjoyed our little zoo tour. Kx

New Piggy Back Animal Brooches!

20 March 2012

Well we saved the best till last in our opinion! These super cute animals piggy-backing other animals are one of a kind! Inspired by our love of animal friendships (I’m sure any regular readers will recognise my own pets Wilfred and Juno in there) these little guys are barrels of fun and theres sure to be one that will make you giggle.

This super cute pig and monkey brooch was inspired by THIS hilarious video! We found ourselves singing the song for DAYS afterwards (this is us officially warning you, IT’S CATCHY) and we just couldn’t resist making them into something wearable!

These guys are just a cute little coupling, lemurs and macaws are both so full of character! We’ve handpainted all the tiny details and colours, which we feel makes this one a super special.

This cute Frenchie and Bunny brooch is inspired by my own little fur babies, Wilfred and Juno. I think in a perfect world Juno would love her own personal puppy to ride. For now she’s working on sharing the couch with him, so we’ll see how they feel about each other in a year or two. This sweet little brooch really is two of the most adorable pets, rolled into one super cute piece of jewellery! If you can’t own one as a pet, own this instead.

And lastly this cute tortoise and kitten brooch is inspired by THIS video our friend Sarah introduced us to. And we’re glad she did, because it’s adorable. And here is a funny little brooch you can wear with pride!

We hope you’ve loved all the new friends we’ve introduced you to! Kx

The bilby really is the chinchilla of Australian animals! Furry, cute and delicate. But did you know bilbies are in trouble? We need to do all we can to help save the Bilby! And luckily all you need to do is buy this brooch. We’re donating 25% of sales to the Save The Bilby Fund, because we can’t imagine life without these cute little guys! Can you?

This sweet little sugar glider is sure to be a conversation starter. A glider in a glider? how cute!

Good Things Lately…

1 March 2012

With such a short last month of summer we’ve been soaking up the sunshine and trying to make the most of the warmth while it’s here (though I am not so secretly willing winter to come asap for wardrobe sake) Heres some fun things we’ve been up to lately.

We visited the kiddy farm with Lynds & Ben on the weekend. This piglet could have fit in our bag….surely.

Nice little bike rides to the park.

Ball and frisbee marathons, often involving several mixed breed puppies chasing Wilfred till he can hardly breathe.

Beach visits (though I haven’t entered the water past my knees at all this season!) to our favourite dog-friendlies on the north side.

Clontarf and Sirius Cove, which are perfect doggy beaches if anyone is interested.

Trying new local cafes (this one was Double Roasters in Marrickville) and sitting out in the sunshine (again, with Wilfy in tow). He’s such well behaved little guy we can never bare to leave him at home on weekends. He has no interest in wandering off, avoids small children and is happiest slouched between the two of us on the cool floor. He’s even learnt to drink rather delicately from a take away cup when places don’t have a bowl for water.

And finally spending some quiet time with Juno before the puppy gets home at night and when the day has cooled down enough for her to get active again.

Even though I’ll be sad to see summer go, we’ve enjoyed this mild (and sometimes WEIRD) weather but I do look forward to dragging out my boots, socks and coats sometime soon! Hope your summer has been as lovely as ours has been. Kx
