26!

25 May 2011

Birthdays are kind of the best thing ever. And this was probably the best one so far. Firstly we wined and dined at Universal in Darlinghurst. Dessert was the most amazing take on a gaytime i’ll probably ever eat. TO DIE FOR.

I was surprised with some pretty special gifts from my boy. This to start with and the lovely print pictured below by Heisuke Kitazawa, titled “This is how it always starts”.  And the most beautiful bunny ring i’ve ever seen by Matina Amanita, which sadly had a very short life and met an untimely end the second time I wore it! but never fear, it will hopefully be fixed and back on my finger asap for a photo!

Birthday breakfast was so delicious. Shenkin in Erskineville is a must try if you are anywhere near it. Breakfast and lunch are both amazing, but I can never go past the pancakes and waffles (be warned the chocolate pancakes are completely insane).

And this is the newest member of our family! My new Blyth doll from Lynds! no, 26 is not too old for dolls.

I also got this beautiful Elke Kramer ring from my lovely friend Sugako, who we are unfortunately bidding farewell to this week as she jets off back to Japan! (but this also makes for a fantastic reason to visit her :)

And finally these! From the very wonderful Miss made590 herself (care of Cat Rabbit). I’ve wanted a Cat Rabbit plush for a very long time and now I have one, and super cute embroidery too!

oh and speaking of handmade things, my mum made me this AWESOME fox stole scarf! YAY for birthdays I say. Kx

Sydney Finders Keepers

24 May 2011

Were you one of the thousands of people who shuffled through the doors of Carriage works on friday night or Saturday? Did you come down and say hello to us and snap up a brooch, plate, necklace, or knitted bow headband? If not here’s a little recap in photos of what we had on show.

And of course, the purchases made! I snapped up a Ginny and Jude Corsage Brooch (to replace my bunny-chewed one).

this cute hand painted plate by Benconservato, how could I resist such cute bandit bubble blowing bunny for my wall?

And these babies! By the lovely people at The Horse, which I’ve had my eye on for some time now.

Hope you all had as much fun as we did over the weekend, me especially because it happened to coincide with my birthday! yay. But more about that another day. Kx

Bunny Love

11 May 2011

So it’s no secret i’m a bit rabbit obsessed, and I’ve come to find there’s a LOT of people like me around, maybe because rabbits are relatively easy pets to keep and they are SO freaking cute, I mean really:

So it’s no surprise this website is dedicated to people’s cute bunny snaps (and man, are there some ADORABLE buns out there) It’s become a daily read for me and has made me desperate for another rabbit, (maybe one who’ll snuggle between us on the couch this time?).

Either way, through this website I spied a little story by Of You, I am Fond. Poor little Fearn had 5 HUGE absesses removed from her tiny bunny tummy (I didnt post the pic, but HOLY MOLEY I don’t know how they fit inside her, honestly)!  Luckily she’s now on the mend and chewing street directories just like Juno does (though its usually cardboard boxes, tissue paper, electrical cords on the menu for her). But it just shows how dedicated people are to their little rabbit friends, just like any other pet, if not moreso.

Speaking of rabbit friends, heres ours, enjoying the comforts of winter.Kx

Mr Ryan, You’ve done it again.

10 May 2011

If you’re anything like us, you’re no stranger to Rob Ryan, UK’s amazing papercut artist extraordinare. Lynds even visited his shop when she was in London last year…But this is just something else. His new range of ceramic homewares are pretty spesh! We’re pretty excited to have them instore at made590 right now because they are just TOO cute and something we all love to death. Lynds and I both have the plates and I also purchased the “his and hers” mugs because the sentiment behind them is just too beautiful. I also really love this fragile tape in Mr Ryan’s Etsy Shop. For the price they are kind of a bargain too. Get in quick because there’s a lot of places that seem to be sold out already! Kx

Sneak Peek Of Market Goodies

6 May 2011

I quick peek of some cute “keep cups” I’ve been decorating for the upcoming Sydney Finders Keepers Market (which is just two weekends away). These combine two of my greatest loves: Coffee and Bunnies (as well as some other cute new characters). I’m pretty happy with how they turned out and also pretty happy that Christina (aka Miss Made590) found the cute cups for me to use! But you’ll have to come down to the market if you want to nab one! Kx

Recent Vintage

5 May 2011

Some recently acquired treasures. Lovely framed swan prints to go on my ballerina wall.

And a new deer! I haven’t bought one for such a long time, mostly due to lack of space more than anything. And the prospect of having to move them all to a new home very shortly is more than a little daunting. I also acquired these adorable miniatures, a cute little birdy and a bunny from Lynds care of Candy Stripe Cloud. So many cute things, so little space. Kx
